Mary, Martha, and Lazarus lived in the little town of Bethany on the Mount of Olives near Jerusalem."; Text[1]=" 2. Mary, Martha, and Lazarus were good friends of Jesus. Jesus often visited with them when He came to Jerusalem."; Text[2]=" 3. Jesus loved His friends in Bethany very much. Not long ago He had raised Lazarus from the dead."; Text[3]=" 4. One day Jesus and His disciples came to Bethany. It was 6 days before the feast of the Passover."; Text[4]=" 5. A man named Simon invited Jesus and His disciples for dinner while they were in Bethany."; Text[5]=" 6. Lazarus, along with Jesus, was invited to the dinner."; Text[6]=" 7. Martha; the sister of Lazarus, helped with the serving. Mary, the other sister was there too."; Text[7]=" 8. Mary loved Jesus as the Savior. She wanted to show her love for Him."; Text[8]=" 9. Mary had a very expensive bottle of perfume. She decided to use it to show her love for Jesus. Mary went to where Jesus was sitting at the table."; Text[9]=" 10. She broke open the bottle of perfume and poured some of it on the head of Jesus."; Text[10]=" 11. Mary also poured some of the perfume on the feet of Jesus."; Text[11]=" 12. Then she wiped the feet of Jesus with her hair."; Text[12]=" 13. The people at the table were surprised at what Mary did. The sweet smell of the perfume soon filled the house."; Text[13]=" 14. Some of the people became a bit angry. They asked why this perfume was being wasted."; Text[14]=' 15. Judas asked, "Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?" Judas really didn\'t care about the poor. He was a thief; from the purse he carried for Jesus and the disciples he used to steal money.'; Text[15]=' 16. Jesus told them to let her alone for she had done a good deed. "The poor you will always have with you, but not Me."'; Text[16]=' 17. Mary had poured perfume on Jesus\' body to prepare it for burial. He said, "Wherever the Gospel is preached throughout the whole world, this deed of hers will also be recounted, as her memorial."'; Text[17]=" 18. Even today we remember how Mary showed her love for Jesus, the Savior. And so it will be to the end of time.";
