Many people were very sorry for the wrong things they had done. John baptized these people in the river; God changed their lives.' Text[1]='2. 0ne day, as John was teaching, Jesus came to the river. Jesus wanted John to baptize Him.' Text[2]='3. Jesus explained that He must be baptized to obey all that God had said. John baptized Jesus.' Text[3]='4. After Jesus was baptized the Spirit of God came down from heaven in the form of a dove.' Text[4]='5. A voice from heaven said, "This is my Son. I am pleased with Him."' Text[5]='6. Then Jesus went into the desert. For more than a month, Jesus did not eat ANY food.' Text[6]='7. How the devil tempts us. (1 John 2:16) "For all that is in the world--[1] the lust of the flesh, [2] the lust of the eyes, and [3] the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world."' Text[7]='8. Satan, God\'s enemy, knew where Jesus was. He also knew that Jesus was very hungry.' Text[8]='9. Satan went to Jesus, He said, "If you are really God\'s Son, turn these stones to bread."' Text[9]='10. Now, Jesus had not eaten for many days. He was very hungry. And He knew He had the power to turn stones to bread.' Text[10]='11. But Jesus did not need to prove that He is God\'s Son. Instead, Jesus said to Satan, "Man does not live just on bread. He finds life in every word that comes from God,"' Text[11]='12. Did Satan give up? No! Satan took Jesus to the roof of the Temple in Jerusalem. They looked down at the large crowds of people worshiping God.' Text[12]='13. Satan said, "It is written in God\'s Word that God will order angels to look after you. If you are really God\'s Son, throw yourself off this Temple and the angels will keep you from hurting yourself."' Text[13]='14. Satan had used God\'s Word to try to fool Jesus. But, Jesus knew what Satan was doing. Jesus answered Satan by using God\'s Word Himself. He said, "It is also written in God\'s Word, `Do not try to make a test for God."' Text[14]='15. Jesus loved God. He was not going to do something foolish just to prove that God would take care of Him. Satan had failed for a second time.' Text[15]='16. Satan had one last plan. Satan took Jesus to the peak of a very high mountain. From the top of the mountain, Jesus could see many great cities.' Text[16]='17. Satan made this offer to Jesus. "I will give you all of this. All you have to do is bow down and worship me."' Text[17]='18. Jesus turned to Satan. "Get away from me, Satan," commanded Jesus. "God\'s Word says to worship God and serve only Him."' Text[18]='19. Satan left. Then angels came to Jesus and helped Him. Jesus was now ready to start telling people about God\'s love.' Text[19]='20.
