On his second missionary journey Paul took his friend, Silas, with him. They traveled many places together preaching the gospel.'; Text[1]=' 2. One night in Troas Paul had a vision. He saw a man from Macedonia asking him, "Come over into Macedonia and help us."'; Text[2]=' 3. The next morning Paul told Silas, Timothy and Luke, who were traveling together, what he had seen.'; Text[3]=' 4. Knowing that God had wanted them to preach in Macedonia, they immediately found a ship to take them to Macedonia.'; Text[4]=' 5. They sailed for two days to cross the sea. At the end of the first day they came to a big rocky island.'; Text[5]=' 6. The second day they came to Neapolis, a seaport of Macedonia. There they got off the ship.'; Text[6]=' 7. Paul and his friends had to travel 10 miles inland to reach Philippi. They were glad to go everywhere telling people the story of Jesus.'; Text[7]=' 8. In Philippi they could find no one who knew about Jesus. They could not even find a Jewish synagogue. They did learn, however, that there was a prayer meeting by the side of the river.'; Text[8]=' 9. They made their way to the prayer meeting (by a river) and found that all who were present were women.'; Text[9]=' 10. One of the women was named Lydia. Paul and Silas began speaking to the women about Jesus.'; Text[10]=' 11. The women listened carefully to the teaching of Paul.'; Text[11]=' 12. Lydia, who already worshipped God, believed the things that Paul had to say about Jesus. Then she and her household were baptized.'; Text[12]=' 13. Lydia wanted to be helpful to those who preached about Jesus. She asked the preachers to stay at her house as long as they were in Philippi.'; Text[13]=' 14. When they saw how very much Lydia wanted them to stay in her home, the four men accepted her invitation.'; Text[14]=' 15. While these men were staying in Lydia\'s home they preached Jesus all over the city of Philippi.'; Text[15]=' 16. Using Lydia\'s home as headquarters, they were able to teach many people the gospel of Christ.'; Text[16]=' 17. Some became believers in Christ, and the church was established in Philippi. They met together in Lydia\'s home.'; Text[17]=' 18. The day finally came when Paul and Silas had to leave Lydia- and their other dear friends in Christ at Philippi.'; Text[18]=' 19. Soon Paul and Silas were on their way to other towns of Macedonia, preaching Jesus everywhere.';
