It was the resurrection evening. All the disciples except Thomas were together. They were happy, for they were now finally convinced that Jesus had risen from the dead. '; Text[1]='2. Early that morning Mary Magdalene had come to tell Peter and John, "They have taken the Lord out of the grave; we don\'t know where they laid Him."'; Text[2]='3. Peter and John had hurried to the tomb to see for themselves. They had seen the empty grave, the linen wrappings, and the head cloth. But Peter and John didn\'t know at that time what the Bible meant when it said, "Jesus had to rise from the dead."'; Text[3]='4. When Mary Magdalene came to the grave to cry, Jesus appeared to her. She hurried to tell the disciples. "I saw the Lord; He is risen from the dead." But at that time the disciples didn\'t believe her.'; Text[4]='5. Some time on that first day of the week Jesus showed Himself to Peter. Now Peter knew that Jesus had risen from the dead. What Mary and the other women had told him and the other disciples was really true.'; Text[5]='6. That afternoon two of Jesus\' followers were walking to Emmaus. Jesus joined them, but they didn\'t know it was Jesus.'; Text[6]='7. "Stay with us!" they urged when they came to Emmaus. Jesus went home with them. When they sat down to eat, they knew it was Jesus.'; Text[7]='8. The two hurried back to Jerusalem to tell the disciples, "Jesus is risen. He walked with us to Emmaus. We didn\'t know it was Jesus till we sat down to eat! "'; Text[8]='9. Later the disciples were sitting together. The doors were shut, because they were afraid. All at once Jesus stood among them. "Peace be to you!" He said.'; Text[9]='10. Some of the disciples were afraid. They thought that they saw a ghost.'; Text[10]='11. But Jesus said, "Why are you troubled? Look at My hands and My feet; it is I Myself. Feel Me and see for yourselves!" He showed them His hands and His feet.'; Text[11]='12. The disciples thought it was too good to be true. "Do you have anything to eat?" Jesus asked them. They gave Him a piece of broiled fish. They watched as He ate it. Now they knew it was Jesus.'; Text[12]='13. Jesus said again to them, "Peace be to you! As the Father has sent Me, so I send you. Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive sins, they are forgiven. If you don\'t forgive them, they are not forgiven!"'; Text[13]='14. Thomas was not there when Jesus came. The other disciples told him, "We saw the Lord!"'; Text[14]='15. But Thomas answered, "Unless I see the marks of the nails in His hands and put my fingers into them, and my hand into His side, I won\'t believe!"'; Text[15]='16. A week later, all the disciples were together. Again the doors were locked.'; Text[16]='17. Then Jesus came and stood among them. "Peace be to you," He said.'; Text[17]='18. "Thomas," He said, "Put your finger here and look at My hands. Take your hand and put it into My side. Don\'t doubt but believe that it is I!"'; Text[18]='19. Thomas answered, "My Lord and My God!"'; Text[19]='20. Jesus said, "You believe, because you have seen Me. Blessed are they who haven\'t seen Me and still have believed!"';
