INTRODUCTION Jeremiah, Daniel, and Ezekiel, were all alive during the 70 year Babylonian captivity. Daniel and Ezekiel were taken prisoner. After Babylon was conquered by the Persians, Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls, Zerubabel at the urging of the prophets Haggai and Zechariah started to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem and Ezra became the priest. The book of Esther is right at the end of the Old Testament recorded history. Esther became Queen in Persia 479 years before Christ.
