One Year at
by Morgan Faneuf & Lori-Ann Hyde
Morgan and I decided to
both write an article about camp. She
wrote one more focused on the things we learned. I wrote one about what we did. Lori-Ann
Morgan Faneuf:
The
first week in July, Lori, CJ, Dustin, Derek and myself
went to Central Florida Bible Camp. The theme this year was 'Happily Ever
After'. During the girl's Bible classes, we learned that life is not about
having stuff, being well-known, or about pleasure; life is about serving God
and doing His will. During the Chapel
time, we all heard many great lessons from people such as Steven Thornhill,
Rusty Hillard, and Steven Walling, which were all focused on "A Letter to
Me" where they told us about what they would put in a letter to their
teen-aged self, giving us advice on what we should do in the same situations
and trials in our own lives, so we don't have to make the same mistakes they
did. By the end of the week, we had two
new sisters in Christ and everyone was uplifted, ready to go home and face the
world with new knowledge of how to live our lives for Christ!
Lori-Ann
Hyde:
Bible camp is definitely something you
don’t want to miss out on. You’ve already heard how spiritually uplifting it
is; it’s also truly one of the most fun places you could ever go. Our days are
all new and exciting, filled with swimming and sports and lessons and crafts
and friends. Also, everyday (maybe the best parts of the days), we have
different Special Activities--for example, one night we did Family Feud, one
night a talent show, one night Cabin Wars (so much fun!). And there are Special
Activities for the afternoons too; like the Tide Slide, shaving cream fights,
corn on the cob eating contests (crazy things like that). But I have to warn you,
you can never be sure what kind of stuff happens after hours, so don’t be
surprised to wake up and find rotten meat on your doorstep, or hear people
screaming "CLAAM JUICE!!!" at 3 in the morning. It is reassuring to
know that you can choose activities from riding Ziplines to playing cards;
you’ll never be bored at C.F.B.C.
1 John 1:3 "That which we have seen and heard we also proclaim to you, so that you
too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father
and with his Son Jesus Christ."
