Question: "Did God call Armstrong to preach in the Plain Truth magazine?"

  "Called to preach."
Mk. 16:15-16
15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Gal. 1:6-8
6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed

Question: "Is the Holy Spirit not the third person in the Godhead?"

     Holy Spirit is not deity?
John 14:15-17
15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- 17 "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. [1 Cor. 2:12, 13-- 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.]
John 15:26
26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
Matt. 28:19
19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

Question #3 > "Shall we all become God or divine beings at the resurrection?"

Resurrection and then become deity? No Bible.

Matt. 22:30
30 "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.
1 Cor. 15:24-28
24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For "He has put all things under His feet." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
Rev. 21:7
7 "Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

Question #4: >"Are people supposed to observe the 7th day Sabbath today like the Jews did?"

  Sabbath binding?
Acts 20:7
7 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight. (NKJV)
1 Cor. 16:1,2
1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: 2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come. (NKJV)
Rev. 1:10
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, (NKJV)
Col. 2:14-17
14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. 16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

Question #5 > "Are we to abstain from 'unclean foods' mentioned in the Law of Moses?"

Unclean foods today?
1 Tim. 4:1-5
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
Col. 2:13-17
13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us.
Rom. 14:3-21
3 Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. ... 14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. ... 21 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.

Consider Peter on Simon's housetop (Acts 10). God told him not to call anything "unclean" that God had cleansed! And God had just showed him "unclean animals" and told him to eat.

1 Thess. 4:16-17
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
