Review for Lesson 10:

1. The cross of Jesus is the fulfilment of the Old Covenant.

2. Jesus did not destroy the Old Covenant. He fulfilled it and brought it to its end.

3. Jesus' death authorized the New Covenant, the Perfect Law, to come into effect.

How do we to know what the commandments of His Law are?
Bible Thought:
Romans 10:15
And how shall they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"

Summary

The purpose of this lesson was to help the student to reason (by induction) the following information from the passages:

  1. Jesus spoke of things pertaining to the Kingdom of God to the apostles until He ascended. His apostles wanted to know WHEN it would be established.
  2. He commanded His apostles to wait for the promise of the Father, i.e., the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  3. Jesus has all power (authority) in Heaven and Earth.
  4. There is more than one account of His charges to His apostles.
  5. After the Holy Spirit would come, the apostles were to be witnesses unto the uttermost part of the earth, beginning at Jerusalem.
  6. They were to teach, baptize, and teach all commands to the disciples.
  7. Jesus is coming back like He ascended.

A chief message in the selected passages is(select)

Jesus taught nothing about His kingdom.

Jesus left no teachings; everyone can believe and do what they feel like doing.

Although Jesus never wrote anything down, nevertheless, with all authority, He charged His apostles to teach all that He taught.
